Samsung ML-2510 on later OSX or macOS, a how-to...

I have this 'old' samsung monochrome laser printer (ML-2510). 'They' tell me it's not supported in Mac OS X mavericks and later... that may be, but you can still print with it. Here's how:
  1. get this file Download from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL905
  2. install it (of course)
  3. goto add printer dialog
  4. spot your printer, mine is on my airport extreme's USB port, it appears in the list of choices.
  5. it won't find the driver for it, that's normal, open "Choose a driver..." then "Select software..."
  6. look for "Samsung ML-1640" and select that.
  7. hit the "ok's"
  8. pat yourself on the back.
I am not promising you will never get any issues with this, but the solution has worked without a hitch for months on my setup.

You can try different printer models too for your different printer too. When it doesn't work, nothing should explode or anything.
